Consultations

Dr Lee provides consultations in clinic to support patients treated with endocrine therapies* for hormone sensitive breast cancer with her clinical and research expertise. Dr Lee is passionate about understanding, optimising and managing side effects of endocrine therapies and supporting breast cancer patients treated with these.

Consultations are collaborative and aim to understand and to improve if possible, the impact of treatment side effects for each patient to enhance their health, quality of life and lived experience whilst treated with these medications.

Dr Lee provides consultations to collaborate with patients’ usual treating cancer treatment providers and general practitioners.

About Me

Dr Lee completed her undergraduate medical degree at The University of Newcastle in 2003. She subsequently undertook basic physician training, medical oncology advanced training, and Cancer Institute-funded Translational Cancer Research fellowship in breast cancer to attain FRACP in medical oncology at the end of 2013.

Dr Lee commenced her PhD in translational breast cancer research in endocrine therapies in 2014. During 2014-2015 she worked part-time at Westmead Hospital as a Postgraduate Clinical Fellow in breast cancer during the first two years of her PhD. In this role, she independently conducted clinics and attended MDTs at a consultant specialist level in providing care to breast cancer patients.

Dr Lee was a full-time Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology at a teaching hospital in South West Sydney Local Health District during 2016-2022. Throughout her six years of service as Staff Specialist, Dr Lee provided compassionate, evidence-based care to support cancer patients, including patients with breast cancer. Whilst Staff specialist, Dr Lee was a Principal Investigator of phase II/III clinical trials in the facility, including clinical trials in breast cancer.

Dr Lee has been affiliated with The University of Sydney as Clinical Lecturer and UNSW Medical School as Conjoint Senior lecturer between 2013 - 2022. She has been a supervisor for Basic Trainees in Internal Medicine at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Advanced Trainees in Medical Oncology since 2014.

Dr Lee graduated with PhD in translational breast cancer research, with her thesis entitled “Endocrine Therapies in breast cancer- Optimising Utility and Understanding Toxicities” in 2021 at Westmead Hospital and The University of Sydney. Since 2012, she has had multiple invited speaker and teaching opportunities including at state and national levels fora predominantly on breast cancer treatment. Dr Lee has presented her translational research on endocrine therapies in breast cancer at national and international conferences, published in international peer-reviewed journals, published invited commentaries and authored a Cochrane Review.

Dr Lee cares deeply about all patients that she has the great privilege to see. She is passionate about understanding and optimising the lived experience of patients who are treated with anticancer therapies.

Current memberships include: Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), Full-Member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Member of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA), Member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
